The Art in Everything…

The Way Up, Canon Powershot S3 IS

I find myslef lately being totally enveloped in photography.  The majority of my work now is slowly becoming centered around this art.  I am constantly taking pictures, and when the time allows, going out to interesting sites to photograph the unusual and mundane.  I’m using this medium as a focus in new mixed media pieces and I am learning and experimenting with different techniques for both digital and film processing.  When I am not holding a camera up to my face and seeing the world through a lens, I still find myself looking at life as if it were a photograph….catching little moments, expressions, details that I’ve never done before…noticing that there is art in everything.

SPC -Glam Week 4

Conent....Sarah e. Smith Photography

Content, Canon Powershot S3 IS……

This is the last of the glamor theme…and I am content. :) That’s it….just pure and simple contentment. Basking in the glow of inner peace, harmony and glamour if only for a moment before the chaos of life breaks through the silence.

Oh Ancient Muse…

Abandon, Canon Powershot S3 IS…

I haven’t done a list of favorite things in a while…here are some things I am loving on lately:

~ I simply adore Ito Teas….unsweetend pure bliss

~ Pretty much any clothing from Theory. I snatched up a bunch of their fabulous dresses this weekend at an outlets soter, I just adore them.

~ The new Organic Facial line from Kiss My Face

~ Stationary and journals from Paperchase.  i’m using some of their blank books for my photo journals.

~ I just discovered this at my grocery store and was so excited to try it… Pixie Mate…it is absolutely yummy, though I still enjoy drinking it out of my mate gourd better :)

~ These poetry books that I recently picked up at Marshall’s of all places….this, this, this, and this :)

Oh…and if anyone can tell me where I can find a little lighted Christmas tree exactly like the one that Laura Linney had in Love Actually (it was on her office desk) I will send you a nice surprise….i have been looking everywhere for one just like it , but alas, to no avail :(

Well, Im off to soak in a nice bubble bath and read the liner notes from An Ancient Muse…good night ;)

Sunday Serenade, Canon Powershot S3 IS…Sarah e. Smith Photography: View Large

This is my first SPC in my new home :) I’ve had these boots for about 8 years, they are my favorite, thoguh I don’t wear them too often….only when I feel like I need a bit of glam and some height :) They have seen some fabulous dance floors and evenings out and have sent me on a few spills too…much to my husband’s amusement :)

A Ho-Hum Day…

Lifelines, Canon Powershot S3 IS    Sarah e. Smith Photography

I’ve finally gotten around to creating a photo journal of some pics that I have taken.  It’s a bit of a combination of photo journal, art journal and poetry book.  The journal that I found I loved so much I eneded up going back to the store and buying 3 more so I have enough to continue with down the road.

The Story Begins…

Welcome to my new space! I am following in the footsteps of many and leaving my old blog behind.  It’s bittersweet really, Blogger has served me well since 2004, but I felt I needed an upgrade and a change of pace.  For those of you who were kind enough to subscribe to my old blog or link to my old blog my new address is:

http://www.rusticrelics.net/blog

I would greatly appreciate it if you choose to update my link.  The old blog is still up for now until I can migrate the old posts here, but I lost a lot of the bells and whistles when I already tried to do so….including my list of links.  If you would like to be added to my new link page please leave me a comment with your blog address.

**NOTE: For some reason when trying to view/add a comment it looks as if the page will not scroll down to allow to you enter or view the comments….just wave the cursor over the sidebar on the right and this should fix it…i hope to figure out what is going on with that later today.

Here’s to a happy end and new beginnings! :)
