Lucky 7

My Boys :)

Seven years ago this evening, I was at a blues bar, enthralled with a very handsom and musically talented man that i just met a few hours before.  Later that evening we hopped to a few bars and had an early morning breakfast at Denny’s until about 5am when he finally brough me home and gave me a kiss on the front porch of my apartment.  Little did I know that seven years later we would be happily married with a family.  It is amazing how fast time flies, how things change and how some things will always stay the same.  *sigh* It is also amazing how he reminded me of this little anniversary :)

I have found myself this week recovering from the stress and excitement of Christmas, there is so much build up to this day, and it is over so suddenly…the whole thing has left me exhausted.  I always find myself in a funk right after the holiday, Christmas is one of my favorite holidays and it always seems to be over so fast.  I’ve been relaxing, watching season 1 & 2 of Sex And The City (i forgot how much I loved that show…i am totally addicted to it all over again), running on my new treadmill, taking tons and tons of pics with my new camera and just trying to take it easy.  I have found lately that my creative side has taken a bit of hiadus to make room for holiday preparations and I am having a tough time getting it back together.  I have so many project ideas that i would like to materialize, so much so that I think they have gotten all tangled up and I just don’t know where to start unraveling them.

A Very Very Very Merry Christmas!

My Article in Jan/Feb issue of Belle Armoire Magazine

If you have been following my ramblings for some time, you may recollect me yapping on about some big news for Rustic Relics….well, I am happy to finally spill the beans! I just had an article published in the 2007 Jan/Feb issue of Belle Armoire, which just hit newstands (Border’s Books and Barnes & Nobel sell the magazine and I think Michael’s does as well)!!! This magazine is a sister magazine of Somerset Studio and features handcrafted wearable art. The 3 page article features a how-to for my Spirit Within pendants.  My jewelry/articles will also be featured in two more of thier publications; the annual Jewelry Issue, which will feature a how-to article for my “Modern Mosaic” pendants and a summer issue featuring my new “Oracle” pendants.  I am SO flippin’ excited!!!

The pendants featured in each article will be available for sale when I receive them back from the magazine. The Oracle pendants are temporarily out of stock, but i hope to have some new one’s up after the holidays as the pieces that were on the webiste have been sent to the magazine to be photographed.

This certainly is turning out to be a fabulous holiday season.  I am not sure if i will have the chance to post again before Christmas, so I wish you all out there in BloggyLand a safe, healthy and happy Christmas and New Year.  Cheers!

Shock & Awe :)

Always Happy To See You, Canon Digital Rebel XTi

I’m still in shock, total and utter shock. My birthday is on Saturday, and my husband suprised me with an early birthday/christmas gift…one that i did not ask for, expect or even dreamed of getting.  Low and behold, underneath the thin layer of red and green wrapping paper lay the “camera of my dreams” the Canon Digital Rebel XTi  :O I’m still not sure what to say, I am just completely elated, humbled by his support for something that has become my artistic passion and completely grateful.  I just hope that you aren’t sick of seeing my photography because there is going to be a lot more on the way :).  This opens up a whole new realm of photographic possibilities for me…i am SO flippin’ excited!!!

Part of the reason why I received my gift early (other than the fact that my husband was very impatient/excited to give it to me :) is so I can sell my old camera before X-Mas…Needless to say I an no longer in need of my Canon Powershot S3 IS that I purchased this summer, so it is up for sale Check out the description for all the details, ut it also comes with the case, 1 MG memory card and lens adapter/hood.  I took excellent care of that camera and all of the photos in my galleries were taken with that camera(except the NYC pics).

My husband has always had quite a way with surprises but this one just takes the cake :)I’m off to play with my new toy…*sigh*

The Long Approach Of Winter

Twins (taken from a moving car), Canon Powershot S3 IS…Today I woke up to the first thin veil of snow covering the ground, it’s mid afternoon now and most has melted but seeing it there this morning made me smile.  The temperatures here have changed dramatically over the past week and it has always been my mindset that if it is going to be this cold there should atlest be a beautiful layer of snow on everything.

I have a bunch of new images that I am quite proud of that I will be posting up soon.  I’ll also be revamping the Photography section on Rustic Relics with some one of a kind original prints, framed and unframed, for purchasing.  They will all be limited edtions that are signed and dated.
