.fortune.

fortune.jpg

~ you love, sports, horses and gambling but not to excess ~

ok so this is the weirdest fortune that has ever come out of a cookie – and totally not true, atleast in my case.  though i did get another one that said “soon you will be sitting on top of the world”..this I liked much better :) I went to go get new glasses today, two years after breaking the last pair I had.  I love em’ though and can’t wait until they arrive.  I am totally a contact lens person, and usually hate wearing glasses, these are a bit different and I am actually looking forward to giving my poor eyes a break from wearing contacts 24/7.  While having my eye exam, the optomatrist, who had a very thick Asian accent, said that she was going to do a test to check my “depths of perception” – i know what she meant to say, but i like how it came across much better :)

…and yes, i missed my tuesday blog deadline by 10 minutes! darn… i’ve been trying to create a slide show of wedding images to post and i was getting rather frustrated with the software…hence the reason you are reading a post about a fortune from a cookie…i hope to have the intended post up later today.

.the goal.

loveblog.jpg

.ok so it is my goal to write a blog post every day this week.  i have sadly neglected things here…though to my defense I have been ridiculously busy.  however, i have tons to post about and it is about due time. i had the most fabulous engagement session out in Utica this past weekend, and have a wedding and several family and engagement sessions lined up in the coming weeks.  I have some time here and there on the weekends and still days open during the week for sessions, so if you are interested in booking something while the leaves are bright and still on the trees, please contact me to set something up as I am booking up quickly :).  A great place for family fall sessions or engagement sessions is Indian Ladder Farms orchard.  I will be there on Oct 26th for a session I have booked at 9am, though I do have the rest of the afternoon open and I would be happy to take a session or two there later that day. Please contact me via email or the form on my site to set up a session.

So here are some things you can expect to see posts about soon…

.session sneak peeks and lots of pictures :)

.links to some of my favorite sites and blogs that i frequent.

.i recently acquired some new lenses and equipment and I will be dedicating a post int he new future about what’s in my bag as well as what i use in the office to edit, store, and present my images with.  i’ve become such a tech geek…who knew!

.random stuff and images, current music playlists, ramblings….

.anyway, i am off to play with the little one’s. see you here tomorrow…(i hope ;))

.busy busy.

.goodness, since being out of work to stay home with my little one’s and starting a photography business i have never felt so busy in my life! am i complaining…absolutely not! i LOVE it!  I just shot a beautiful intimate wedding in the Berkshires this past weekend, and will have some sneak peeks to post up soon. The weather was crazy from being miserable and rainy in the morning to bright, sunny and rediculously humid in the afternoon…interesting day for lighting to say the least. I am looking forward to rockin out an awesome wedding this Saturday then an engagement session with a super fun couple on Sunday! I am a bit bummed to be missing the Irish 2000 festival this weekend and Enter The Haggis, but i love what I do and can’t wait to get out there and shoot…that it certainly makes up for it :).

.other than that i am just busy keeping things in order around the house and with the kids, who are just too fun for words.  the cool fall air has slowly started to settle in and the leaves are starting to change…this is my favorite time of year, i just wish it wasn’t so short lived.  i am looking forward to my family’s annual tradition of heading over to the beautiful Indian Ladder Farms to pick apples…this year I will have the little man in tow, so my husband won’t be able to throw apples at me :) HA! My weekends through November are pretty booked, though i do have a few days here and there open for either last minute wedding reqeusts or portrait sessions, so be sure to hit me up to snag a date while i still have them.  i have a bunch of stuff coming up, so i hope to be able to keep this blog updated. i have some posts planned that i will get up soon :)

So what’s new with you?

.Snip Its – you know…for kids!

.yesterday was a really rainy day here so i decided to take Evie, who desperately needed a haircut to Snip It’s, a kids only hair salon to get something done with her hair.  i am really bad a cutting it, so i figured we would give the place a try.  she had a lot of fun and loved that they put sparkles in her hair at the end :) she wasnt quite sure about getting her bangs trimmed though – but all went well and she left with a smile.

.Tracey & Pete – Engagement Session : 05.05.08.

So i have been quite behind on posting sessions and sneak peeks and have finally been catching up on these and other business related things lately. The little man gave me 6 hours of sleep last night and i am hoping that is a new trend! I found out today he is already 12.8 oz! Anyway…

Back in May I had the privilage of photographing Tracey and Pete’s engagement session at the Spa State Park in Saratoga Springs, NY. Tracey has become a dear friend of mine and I was honored when she asked me to photograph an engagement session for her and her fiance Pete. Little did i know that a few months after their session that they would be whisking themselves away to Switzerland to get married and have their wedding photographed by the fabulous Garrett and Joy Nudd! I also had the honor of photographing them with their family and friends upon their return and will have those images to show you at a later date. Thank you Tracey and Pete for allowing me to capture your engagement and for your dear friendship ♥

.wow, i have been a bad photog mom…taking forever to take and post pictures of the new man in my life! Miles was born back on 08/01 after only four quick hours of labor…i can’t belive how fast it went considering Evie took 27 hours! he is an eating machine and a cuddle bug.  Evie has warmed up to him already and seems to be taking on the role of big sister with ease (so far!).  my daily routine is still pretty shot and i am still trying to find the time to get everything done.  i am working in between naps, feedings, laundry and chores as much as i can, but i am looking forward to the next few months where i hope things will fall a bit more into a routine and he starts sleeping longer at night – which is when i usually work on my photography editing and such anyway. i am looking forward to shooting my weddings coming up in a few weeks and getting back out there for some headshot, engagement and family shoots! My poor 40D has been ready and waiting to get out there and I will be ordering some new glass soon to shoot – woot!  I have been booking weddings for 2009 and even into 2010, so if you are a potential client interested in booking a session please do contact me to make sure your date is reserved. i hope to be posting more often now that Miles is here and things are starting to calm down a bit. I am still behind on posting session sneak peeks and have one to post this week.  well, back to the grind while the little man is asleep and my daughter is staying out of trouble…it’s a bit of a madhouse here lately but we are all doing well. :) hope you and yours are enjoying the summer while it is still here….cheers!
