.the brady’s – albany area family photography.

.this past fall i had the wonderful opportunity to photography the brady’s.  i went to school with both Kelly and Dan, and like most people you befriend in high school, lost touch with them as years went by. another mutual friend purchased a gift certificate for them shortly after their son was born for a family session -  and i was so pleased to have reconnected with such great people. they have such a great family and little micah was such a joy to photograph.  little did we know that during the session his first stomach bug was about to make an apperance later in the day, but he was such a sport during the shoot.  we had their session at Indian Ladder Farms, my absolute favorite place in the summer and fall to visit and the place where my family goes every year to pick apples and pumpkins for Halloween. here is a sneek peek of my favorites from the session.  thanks again Theresa, Kelly, Dan and Micah for such a fun day!

i love shooting portrait and family sessions, it is a nice departure from my other love of wedding photography.  if you are interested in booking a session, i still have some free weekend dates scattered throughout the spring, summer and autumn, and generally schedule these sessions on Sundays.  please contact me to set up a consultation or session, dates are going fast! :)

freeeeeeddddooooommmmmm!

my daughter has quite a few expressions and has recently turned into such a little diva.  i stepped away from her to do some chores the other day and found her in true William Wallace fashion running around her room with a freshly painted blue face, then requesting that i take her picture….how could I not!!!  i am just happy that my son made it through the face painting episode unscathed! my sister also loves it when i post silly pictures of my kids on my blog…so chica, this one is for you ;)

Melissa & Nick – Utica, NY Engagement Session

this past September I had the pleasure of photographing an engagement session with Nick and Melissa in their hometown of Utica.  they wanted a session with an urban feel and Utica has some really great places to shoot….i could have kept going all day but the rain started to come down and i think i gave them more of a workout than they anticipated ;).  we got some really fun shots and they were a great couple to shoot with.  i am happy to say that i will also be shooting their wedding this august so stay tuned for shots from their wedding day later this year!

Finally An Update :) – House For Sale!

Happy Belated Holidays to you all! It has been wayyyy too long since i have updated the blog, though between the holidays and the decision to move time has been a bit scarce here!  Christmas and New Years eve were wonderful, the kids had a great time and the hubs and I were able to sneak away for a few hours last night to enjoy New Years eve with some friends.  For the past few weeks we have been in the process of getting our house ready to sell, and as of last week it is up on the market!  We have also found a house within a mile from where we are now that we love….so all is crazy and all is well!  We decided to move now to avoid the headache of it all when wedding season comes around, and to my 2009 clients my move will not affect your photography sessions in any way.  I have a ton of sessions i still have to post and will be getting to that, among other things that need to be updated, soon!

Below are some pictures of our house that is up for sale.  If you know anyone who may be looking into moving to the wonderful Clifton Park area please feel free to email me at sarah@sarahsmithphotography.com and I will be happy to provide you with our listing agent’s info…she’ll be able to give you more information on the property and can set up a time to show it to you! Hope you all have a fabulous 2009!
